Tabs - Distortions
There are three panels on this tab:
- Lens Correction - fixing optical and perspective distortions;
- Rotation - rotating the image;
- Geometry - squeezing, stretching and shifting the image.
The Show grid ( ) button shows and hides the grid on the screen. It is easier and more convenient to fix distortions relatively to the grid. To change the color of the grid, move the mouse pointer over this button, right-click it and select the necessary color on the pop-up menu.
Note: You can move the grid by capturing its lines or their intersections with the mouse. It is possible to capture the grid when the pointer looks like this: , or
As a result of distortion reduction, there may appear areas beyond the borders of the original image. The Edges list ( ) allows you to select the method how to fill these areas:
- Black - fill with the black color;
- Edge Extension - fill with the color of edge pixels;
- Mirror - fill with the mirrored source image;
- Auto-fit - eliminate these areas by automatically fitting the image into the frame.
Lens Correction
This panel contains the following sliders:
Pincushion / Barrel - fixes pincushion and barrel optical distortions.
Vertical Perspective - fixes vertical perspective distortions.
Horizontal Perspective - fixes horizontal perspective distortions.
Rotation
Rotation - rotates the image.
The Level / Plumb line Tool ( ) allows you to automatically rotate the image at the necessary angle relatively to the straight line specified in the image and serving as a horizontal or vertical line (for example, the skyline or the line along the wall of a building, etc).
Geometry
Horizontal Shift - shifts the image horizontally.
Vertical Shift - shifts the image vertically.
Horizontal Squeeze / Stretch - squeezes or stretches the image horizontally.
Vertical Squeeze / Stretch - squeezes or stretches the image vertically.
